My name is Susan Davis and I’m the strategist and writer in CURRYdavis. Ashley Curry is the graphic designer that breathes life into the stories we uncover.

As fate, or luck, would have it, we met years ago on a project in the small, rather remote city of Auburn, Maine. Ashley is an American from New Jersey and I, a Canadian from Vancouver. We couldn’t have begun life much farther apart, on two distant ocean shores, and still been on the same continent. The different perspectives, or advantages as it turned out, didn’t stop there. I am a single mother of two grown children and Ashley, a wife and mother of two little girls. While we both studied in our respective creative fields, we met on the outside edge of our skills. Ashley worked in photography at the time and I in marketing before centering ourselves, and ultimately our partnership, in narrative and visual storytelling.

While big geography separates us physically, Ashley now in Portland, Maine and me still in Vancouver, we are both looking at trees, ocean and the natural way of things, making it hard to see anything other than what is. Perhaps as a natural consequence of seeing such truth, we see our work in branding through precisely that same lens. We find it quite freeing.
